Movement/Resistance: Workshops for Black artists and POC

“Movement/Resistance” a workshop series that draws from Parker's research of ancient African Diasporic symbolism representing rebirth and fertility. Parker fuses performance and ritual and dialogue to experiment with the unknown by pushing physical boundaries and realizing personal narratives for generating creativity.

 

In the workshops, Parker will lead participants through an experiment of movement in memory, lineage and cross-pollinating. We will cultivate the present moment emphasizing improvisational practice and share space to explore self as a site for resistance.

 

Join us for a rigorous exchange of polyrhythmic movement and live percussion by Taji Maalik Hill! 

 

Allies are encouraged and welcomed to attend.
