Power Gathering: Sewing & Sambusas

Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:00-5:00pm

Midtown Global Market, 920 E Lake St, Minneapolis, MN 55407

Co-hosted by Million Artist Movement and Pangea World Theater

Learn techniques for hand sewing and sewing machines. Then apply those techniques with other community members to create a banner in support of Black Lives Matter. The banner will be displayed at other events and carried at protests. Sew, talk, connect, enjoy free food from Safari Express, and help us create a piece of mobile art made by many loving hands in the community. There is no charge for this event, and no need to RSVP. Come , connect, create art.

Special thanks to Midtown Global Market for donating space for this event.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

This event is organized by Maria Asp, a Fellow with Pangea World Theater's Arts Organizing Institute (AOI). The AOI is the current manifestation of Pangea's Lake Street Arts! community development vehicle.

Pangea World Theater gratefully acknowledges that we are on the sacred traditional lands of the Dakota people. It is an honor to live, work and create art and community alongside Dakota, Ojibwe and other Indigenous people in the Twin Cities.
